Sunshine targets full points against ASO Chlef

KNOWING well that a defeat could spell doom for them in their bid to qualify for the semi final of the CAF Champions League, players of Sunshine Stars of Akure have promised to beat Algerian side ASO Chlef today in Algeria.Basking in the euphoria of a 2-0 win over the Algerians in the first leg played two weeks ago in Ijebu-Ode, the Nigerian flagbearer has everything to play for and must therefore avoid defeat in order to keep the hope of a semi final slot alive.Sunshine Stars are placed second on the standing with four points, same as Tunisia's Etoile Du Sahel, which plays host to group leader Esperance also of Tunisia this weekend."Our target at the beginning of the competition was to qualify for the group stage and then move to the semi final. After the initial setback, we were able to bounce back into contention and at this point, we cannot afford to fumble.''Our aim in Algeria is to return home with the three points because that is the only way to keep our dream alive,'' said coach Gbenga Ogunbote before the team left Nigeria for the encounter.Sunshine Stars will, apart from aiming for a win in far away Algeria, will most importantly pray that Etoile flops at home against fellow Tunisian, Esperance, which beat them 1-0 a forthnight ago.
