72 Gymnasts for Dairo championship

NOT fewer than seventy-two gymnasts are anticipated to take part at the forthcoming Hon Dairo Gymnastic Open Championship billed for August 28' 31, 2012 at the indoor sports hall, Akure township stadium.The Championship being sponsored by the 1st Vice Chairman of the Ondo State Gymnastics Association, Hon Tunji Dairo in conjunction with the state Association will feature gymnasts from the South West Zone two that comprises of three states namely Osun, Ekiti and Ondo.Disclosing this in a chat with Tribunesports in Akure, the state gymnastic coach, Fadoju Olamide Betcy stated that all arrangements towards the organisation of the championship have been concluded, adding that all the states have been briefed and eagerly waiting for the event.Speaking further, the Cairo '91 All African Games bronze medalist stated that the championship is aimed at preparing and assess the athletes ahead of the 18th National Sports Festival slated for Lagos later in the year.She added that the championship will feature 24 gymnasts from each state, who will take part in three categories namely the junior, intermediate and senior categories for the four days event while various prizes and cash will be awarded to gymnasts that distinguish themselves.
