Published by Guardian on Tue, 21 Aug 2012

ADEDOYIN Ayoade is the creative force behind Bellisimo Concept. The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta-trained accountant, who started her makeover business in 2007, while still in school, says she is a self-trained artist.'I got my basic training via Internet, video clips, books by professional make-up artists, did practical sessions using my mum, sisters, friends and neighbours as models. I also did free jobs for brides in order to be well groomed in the art,' she retorts. For Ayoade, the idea of being a makeover artiste came in 2006, when she accompanied her sister-in-law, who was already established in the industry, to a wedding.'I watched as she transformed the bride and loved what I saw. I was thrilled at the instant smile on the lady's face,' she says. 'From that moment, I developed a passion for the job.'The CEO of Bellisimo Concepts considers her client's skin tone, make-up preference and the event on ground before she applies make-up on them. While saying that the make-up world is now saturated, Adedoyin, whose favourite beauty products include Revlon, Clinique, Black up, Mac and Fashion fair, notes, 'the good thing about the business is that your work speaks.'Her tips on eye shadow application' 'Select three colours: light, medium and dark, Get an eye shadow primer and apply light colour under the brow, medium colour on the eyelid while dark colour should be applied on the crease.
