FEDERATION CUP: Lobi, Pillars take battle to Calabar

THEY are both in the running for the 2011/12 league title, but today, Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Kano Pillars will shift their battle for a title for the Federation Cup as they tango for a ticket into the final of the competition.The pitch of the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar will literarilly be on fire as the two in form sides confront each other in one of the semi final matches of the Federation Cup.Already, the game has generated much tension among the followers of the round leather game in the country and both teams have been engaging in a war of words ahead of the tie, tagged final before final.Kano Pillars coach, Baba Ganaru is confident his side will beat the Makurdi based side and qualify for the final to be staged at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos this weekend.However, Lobi Stars vice chairman Dominic Iorfa is talking tough, saying. ''My brother, it is destination final and nothing else.''''We are well motivated for this match. As you are aware, we have a tall order from His Excellency, Gabriel Suswam and that is for us to go and win the Federation Cup. That is our goal, Pillars cannot stop us,'' he further declared.
