Traditional ruler seeks completion of Ora water scheme

An Osun State tra-ditional traditionalruler, Oba Samuel Oladoye Idowu-Olojo Ekundun Abayetumonlara II, Akesin of Ora of Ora Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State, has appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the community in order to avert an epidemic disease in the community.Akesin made this known in his palace while bearing his mind to Community News on the abandoned Ora Mini Water Scheme.Oba Idowu stressed further, "There is no drinkable water in Ora community.'The mini water scheme is not functioning for years back now. We need the assistance of the state government in resuscitating the abandoned water scheme to enable the residents get drinkable water."The traditional ruler said further, "The mini water scheme serves as the only source of well treated water in the community, and if care is not taken, it might lead to an epidemic disease due to lack of pipe borne water in our environment."The community leader also agitated for the re-construction of Oke-Ila-Ofale road, noting that "this road serves as a major linkage to Ora for easy transportation of cash crops from the rural area to urban center."Akesin, who bore his mind on the non-usage of the completed primary health center in Ora, said, "We have standard equipment in the place, but the health centre is yet to assume its full fledged services to the people due to lack of medical practitioners at the health centre," he said.The traditional ruler therefore, called on the power that be to come to their aid in bringing back the social amenities in the community to the limelight.
