Leicester City are reportedly considering a move for Arsenal target Victor Wanyama this summer if they lose star midfielder N'Golo Kante, whom the Gunners are also interested in signing.According to the Mirror's Darren Lewis, Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri has set his sights on the Southampton man if Kante is snapped up by one of his many suitors, including the Gunners, Chelsea, Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain.Daniel Cutts of the Sun listed the Frenchman as one of Arsenal's top midfield targets this summer, and they've also been looking at Wanyama with Transfermarketweb's Claudio Colla noting the Gunners could sign him for 12 million.Arsenal's midfield is undoubtedly in need of a revamp even if Jack Wilshere is able to maintain his fitnessthe likes of Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are unreliable either due to age, injuries or in the latter's case a lack of positional discipline or consistent performance. The trio are all out of contract at the end of season, too.Kante, a revelation at the King Power Stadium this season andPFA Player of the Year nominee, would be the perfect candidate to add resilience to Arsenal's side and protect the back four.As Match of the Day host Gary Lineker and the Telegraph's Paul Hayward note, the Frenchman has an incredible ability to read the game and cut out the opposition's passes:The staggering amount of ground he covers week after week is practically second to none, as the SPORT Bible quipped:The industrious Wanyama is also a capable ball-winner and could make a strong acquisition for Arsenal. According to BBC Sport's Oluwashina Okeleji, he could be available this summer:Here are how his stats compare with Kante's, per Squawka:The Kenyan's numbers are solid, but his Leicester counterpart is on another level. He could still be a useful buy, but it's clear the Gunners should pursue Kante first. If they fail to land him, it seems they'll be competing with the Foxes for Wanyama's signature.Further up the pitch, Arsenal have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan according to the Mirror's John Cross. The Armenian has been in stunning form this season scoring 23 goals and assisting 30 in all competitions. DW Sports' Stefan Bienkowski gave his take on just how important he is to BVB:If the Gunners are to match the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City next season they need to bring in some marquee attacking talent as Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott cannot be relied upon to find the net each week.Mkhitaryan may not be a striker, but it's evident he can contribute plenty of goals to the cause. He may not even cost that much, relatively speaking, because he has just one year left on his contract, so Arsenal should go all in to land him.
