MTN Project Fame' End of the road for Tega, Edward

BARELY a week after they made it into the MTN Project Fame West Africa academy, the duo of Tega and Ewards has been evicted from the ongoing show. Though both contestants did their best on stage, they failed to gather enough votes from viewers, thereby becoming the first set of contestants to be eliminated this season. While Tega did a beautiful ensemble of Don't Let Go by En Vogue, Edward performed Backstreet boys' Don't Leave Me.With co-host Joseph Benjamin unavoidably absent during the show, Adora seamlessly hosted proceedings at the event, with the introduction of all the 15 contestants, whose fate in the academy would be determined on the show.With rising anxiety, Adora invited Yeside Oredugba of Alexander Forbes to present the list of the five contestants with the least number of votes and who would have to perform their way out of the claws of probation. The contest took a different dimension as Joshua, Tega, Edward, Oyinkansade, and Chinyere took up the task of proving themselves in the face of elimination.They repeated the songs they sang at their last performance, but this time the fighting spirit in them came to bear. Joshua did You go kill me o, Tega again performing Wizkid's Love My Baby, Edward did Tu Face's African Queen, Oyinkansade performed As You See Me So also by Tu Face, while Chinyere nailed Asa's Fire On The Mountain.The judgment time came and these contestants were lined up before the judges. Based on their performances, the judges without doubt saved Chinyere. The faculty saved Joshua, while Oyinkasande narrowly escaped elimination with the other contestants' votes, leaving Tega and Edward out of the show.When asked how they felt about their eviction, they individually confessed that though it was painful to leave at this point but they were grateful to God for making it thus far and their gratitude went to the Faculty for bringing out the best in them. Edward in particular, 'thanked God for making it here finally after trying out in four previous seasons'. He will go back to Sierra Leone a fulfilled man.
