Maiden Ogbemudia U-18 Tourney Gets Date

AN under-18 boys and girls tournament named after the governor of the Old Bendel State, Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, will hold from September 7 to 16, 2012 at the Ogida Police Barrack, Siluko, Benin, Edo State, organisers of the competition have revealed.Dr. Ogbemudia, as two-time Governor of the defunct Bendel /Midwest State, laid the foundation of a programme that took the state above its peers during his tenure, and even up till now that the state has been divided into Edo and Delta states.According to a release signed by the President of the National Association of Soccer Organizers (NASO),Amos Osagie, the required weight of the players is 65kg, just as the teams are expected to storm the venue with 20 players from whichthe eligible ones would be picked.He explained that the Ogbemudia under 18 boys and girls tournament was opened to youth and local government teams across the federation and the federal capital territory of Abuja, adding that the winners' prizes would be determined by the National and state Executives of NASO during the competition.Osagie urged interested teams to arrive at the venue located along Egor Local Government Council on time for the competition aimed at discovering talents for the country, as well as immortalizing the former governor.
