Federation Cup: Inexperience cost Prime - Adeshina

PRIME head coach, Ademola Adeshina has reacted to the elimination of his side from the 2012 Federation Cup, blaming inexperience and ill luck for the team's ouster.The fairy tale run of the Osogbo based side was ended on Wednesday by defending champion Heartland who squeezed through to the final of the competition via a 3-0 shoot-out win in the semi final match played in Ilorin.The Nigerian National League (NNL) side put up a spirited fight to hold the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side to a goalless draw at the end of the 90 minutes, only to crash out in the ensuing shoot out.Speaking after the encounter watched by a large crowd, the ex- international whose team bundled out top teams like Wikki Tourists, Rangers and Enyimba enroute the semi final, admitted that his players were undone by their inexperience."I am glad you watched the game and you could see that we matched Heartland in every department but for inexperience, I am sure we would have won the match within the regulation time.''The former IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan player, however, gave kudos to his players for doing their best in getting to the semi final stage at the expence of established teams, stressing that the boys would be psyched up to go for victory in their their third place match against Kano Pillars on Sunday.
