NPL clubs invade Prime

FEDERATION Cup 2012 giant gird killers, Prime FC of Oshogbo would have to guard their loin if they hope to keep most of their players for next season.The Nigeria National League (NNL) side shocked even themselves finishing third in the competition; a development that has earned the team the focus of elite league clubs.Findings by League Update revealed that NPL clubs have already commenced moves to lure some of Prime's outstanding players away from Osogbo ahead of the 2012/13 season.Top on the list of players that might leave Prime is Federation Cup top scorer, Isah Akol who League Update gathered is the major target of the big teams.Akol ended his Federation Cup goal account with six goals, thus emerging the competition's highest scorer, carting home the sum of N200,000 for his efforts.Apart from the striker, other players being chased by NPL clubs include inspirational skipper Waheed Olapade, Akilapa Olusola, Mayegun Taiwo, Tope Akade, Tunde Akande among others.League Update recalls that no NPL team was able to beat the NNL side as Wikki Tourists, Rangers International, Enyimba and Kano Pillars fell victim to their firepower while Heartland, the only survivor, scaled through via penalty shoot out in the semi final.
