Published by Tribune on Mon, 03 Sep 2012

As part of activities marking the second year remembrance of late Mrs Folorunso Ayantayo, the board of trustees of her foundation, Esther Folorunso Ayantayo Foundation (EFA-F), has financially empowered 20 widows and widowers in Ora-Igbomina, Osun state. The Director of the Foundation and the husband of the deceased, Dr Jacob Kehinde Ayantayo, in his speech at the occassion, said the EFA-F was a non profit, non partison and non religious social outfit, adding that God was using this foundation for the service to humanity through charity, particularly to meet the needs of the forgotten, such as the widows, widowers, the orphans and the sick, so as to change their orientation and also to contribute to the development of the community and the nation at large.Commenting on the development, the Akesun of Ora-Igbomina land, Oba Samuel Oladoye, who embraced the EFA-F empowerment programme, stated that 'it is historic because it is the first of its kind in the history of philanthropic enterprise in Ora-Igbomina.'Personally, I am very impressed about it. I pray that Dr Ayantayo J.K will be able to continue, while I urged others of equal mind to do same to salvage the economy of our community''Ora particularly'' as it concerns women and children as well as the nation at large. One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, Mrs. Abidoye Comfort, who was overwhelmed, expressed her gratitude to the foundation, saying that it was a welcome development which others should emulate, adding that 'I am very delighted and grateful for the gift given to me, I pray that God will continue to empower the foundation and give the deceased grace to continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord.'According to Dr Jacob Ayantayo, apart from the financial empowerment of the widows and widowers, there are other activities such as distribution of Holy Bible and copies of a book titled 'Moral Tonic for Teenagers', written by him, marking 46th postumous birthday of his late wife.
