Eagles have learnt bitter lesson - Shorunmu

SUPER Eagles assistant coach, Ike Shorunmu has said that the team has learnt a bitter lesson from the 2-2 draw they recorded against Lone Star of Liberia in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier last Saturday.In an exculsive chat with Tribunesports, the former Eagles safehand said the team was not impressive in Monrovia and has seriously learnt a great lesson."We have learnt our lesson in Monrovia and we would not allow same mistake to happen when we host them next month."To look at it, the draw was not a bad result but because of our level in world football compared to that of Liberia, Nigerians would want nothing but victory", he said.Ike further said the whole team should be blamed for the result and there is no need to single out anyone out for the team's poor performance."We don't need to point our fingers to a single player for our draw in Monrovia. The return leg in Calabar would be more better because the players have promised to put it more efforts so the team would be in South Africa next year for the Nations Cup", he added.
