Copa Lagos Beach Soccer organisers target 250m homes

ORGANISER of the second edition of Copa Lagos Beach Soccer Championship has put measures in place to ensure that over 250 million homes watch the 2012 edition of the competition.Stating that the Beach Soccer tourney will benefit from the highest level of media coverage for such tourney in Africa, the organiser, Kinetic Sports Management, says it is building on the success of the maiden edition.It announced yesterday that the 2012 edition, scheduled to start on December 14, would be broadcast to an estimated 250 million households on over 20 international television stations.According to the firm, media coverage would be supplied by the likes of Eurosports 2 (Europe), Al Jazeera Sports (Middle East), Super Sports (Africa), Fox Sports (North and South America), ESPN Star (Asia) and Sport TV (Brazil).Beach Soccer fans will also be able to view the action live online on www.beachsoccer.com,'the organiser said. 'Super Sport and AIT are among the broadcasters that have renewed their partnership with Copa Lagos for the viewers in Nigeria.'Organisers believe that such global coverage will result in driving the development of Beach Soccer both home and abroad. Copa Lagos sponsors are also in line to benefit from the global coverage.'Their brands and promotional material will be viewed by audiences from Europe through to Asia. The second edition of Copa Lagos will also feature live updates via twitter @CopaLagosBS.'Speaking about the media coverage plans, Kinetic Sports Management Chief Executive Officer, Samson Adamu, said: 'We are extremely pleased with the amount of coverage we have been able to get. This will showcase Beach Soccer and Nigeria to the world and we are delighted to be a part of that.
