KADUNA State Governor, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa has embarked on the commissioning of projects under his administration with the upgrading of Kafanchan General Hospital and the College of Education, Gidan Waya.Besides, Yakowa who had earlier visited the on-going project at the Millennium City, cautioned the officials of Ministry of Lands for allowing land speculators to take over the area for the construction of illegal structures. He was also at the College of Education, Gidan Waya at the weekend where he commissioned a fully equipped computer laboratory with about 100 computers. He also unveiled an ultra-modern specialist chest clinic built and donated to the Kafanchan General Hospital. The governor expressed concern on the extent of dilapidation of structures in the college, just as he directed the Commissioners for Works, Environment and Education to quickly take steps to ensure that the school received the needed attention. While addressing the college's staff, he disclosed that the construction of internal roads network within the college would start as soon as the end of the raining season. He added that appropriate provision would be made in the 2013 budget to enhance the facilities in the college. At the Kafanchan General Hospital, Yakowa, while commissioning the chest clinic, reiterated that provision of quality health and education could only be possibly within the state with private sector participation and urged corporate bodies to partner with the government. The Business Relations Manager of Chevron, Alhaji Mansur Aliyu, who handed over the clinic to the state governor, said that awarenessprogrammes on HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases were also being sponsor by the company. He pledged to partner with the state in the area of education.
