LEADERSHIP Loses Senior Reporter, Paul Chiama

The news of the passing on of a senior reporter of LEADERSHIP Newspaper, Mr Paul Mbakwe Chiama (26th October, 198025th May, 2016), was received with utmost shock by the management and staff of LEADERSHIP Group in Abuja on Wednesday.Chiama, who had been ill for about two months, died on Wednesday, 25th May, 2016, in his home state, Enugu.Mr Paul Chiama, as he is popularly known, was one of the three pioneer reporters of LEADERSHIP Friday, otherwise referred to by former Group News Editor, Mr Tony Amokeodo, as Friday Musketeers, the other two being Abah Adah and Chinelo Chikelu.Chiama, who held a Bachelor of Arts (B. A) second class upper degree in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano, joined the LEADESHIP Group in 2013 as a senior reporter and was given the mandate along with the other two musketeers to work towards actualising the LEADERSHIPs dream of hitting the newspaper stand across the country with the first ever national Friday newspaper.Chiama was the eldest of his parentssix children.Chiama attended Community Primary School, Ukpata, Enugu State where he obtained his first School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1989; Community Secondary School, Iheakpu-Awka, Igbo-Eze South LGA, Enugu State and obtained his SSCE certificate in 1995 before proceeding to Bayero University, Kano for a degree in Mass Communication.While with LEADERSHIP, amiable Chiama maintained a good working relationship with members of staff and would go extra miles to ensure that his assignments were promptly carried out no matter.His good natured personality, absolute commitment to work, honesty and resourcefulness will be missed by the LEADERSHIP family.May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
