Waje Releases New Singles, Performs In New York

AFRICAN soul sensation, Aituaje Iruobe, known as Waje on stage, has hit the airwaves with two singles of her upcoming album, Waje (words aren't just enough).The songs contained in the new album are Oko Mi and I wish.Released on September 1 as a birthday gift, Waje became subject of discussion among the youths on social networks including Twitter and Facebook, and currently enjoys airplay in radio stations across the country. The song is reported to be topping radio and online charts.According to Waje, who was recently nominated as 'Best female vocal performer' for the Headies 'Oko Mi is the song every girl, every woman wants to sing to the man she is in love with.'For every heart that has been broken, I wish is a song that says I have been there, I will survive.'For I wish, the singer digs deep into her darker side with deeply emotional lyrics, fused with a slow tempo ragga beat.The multi-talented singer co-hosted the Future Awards on August 26 and outdid herself in New York in her trademark show last weekend.
