Enyimba set for total re-organisation

Published by Tribune on Wed, 19 Sep 2012

APPARENTLY disappointed with the performance of the team in the just concluded 2011/12 season, a total cleasing is imminent in the camp of former champions Enyimba FC of Aba.The Peoples Elephants once again failed to clinch the league just as the team also failed to finish among the top three teams thus losing out of the race for continental action. An unimpressed chairman of the club Felix Anyansi-Agwu who did not hide his disappointment over the team's poor performance in the season disclosed that a clean clear out is inevitable.''We are definitely going to re-organise the club ahead of the new season. This is very necessary due to not too impresive performance of the club this season.''Going by the plan, some of the players will be released as part of the re-organisation process to reposition the club for the new season. The club will also decide on who fills the vacant seat of the head coach which has not been ocuppied since former Super Eagles handler, Austin Eguavoen left the club after the Federation Cup loss to lower division side, Prime FC of Osogbo. Abdul Maikaba, has remained stand-in coach since then.Enyimba has emerged as Nigeria's most consistent team on the continent since 2002 winning the CAF Champions League in 2004 and 2005, but have missed out in 2007, 2009 and 2012 respectively.
