Security: MTN donates 5 patrol vans to Ogun govt

Telecommunications giant MTN has donated five fully equipped security patrol vans to Ogun State government.Mr Akinwale Goodluck, director, MTN foundation, who made the donation, said it was aimed at contributing to government's efforts to improve security across the country.He said the foundation had provided 60 fully equipped security patrol vehicles with communication gadgets to 11 state governments and the Federal Capital Territory.He said that MTN was expanding the scope and depth of its `unique' model of Corporate Social Responsibility which, he said, was adding true value to society by addressing real needs.``Today's event demonstrated our continued commitment to addressing real societal needs," he said, adding that the Ogun State government had also been a recipient of MTN Foundation scheme for students.``We are grateful to the governor for facilitating the MTN Foundation's verification visit to health facilities in six local government areas of the state," Goodluck said.In his speech at the occasion, Gov. Ibikunle Amosun commended the foundation for its effort to improve security in the state.He said that business can only do well in a state if there is security.``Security is paramount in the state and we are battle ready to combat the security challenges facing the state.``This effort from MTN will help to improve security in Ogun State," Amosun said.
