Tenure of Oyo NURTW caretaker committee extended

The National Administrative Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has extended the tenure of the caretaker committee of the union in Oyo State, just as a social cultural group, the Frontline for Justice, has described the the move as mischievous, false and frivolous.In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday, the union said that even though the tenure of the caretaker committee expired on August 31, the National Administrative Council of NURTW was extending the tenure to give room for settlement of litigations militating against the preparation of the reconstitution of the state council of the union in line with the union's provision.The statement, signed by the national acting Secretary of the union, Comrade Clement Wetkur, said that the terms of reference of the caretaker committee remained the same and expressed hope that the committee would perform beyond its first tenure, but within the constituion of the union.
