Ogun transport agency generated N21m in 8 months

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has generated N21million as revenue into the coffers of the state government.This was disclosed by the TRACE Corps Commander, Ayo Sangofadeji, when explaining to members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation led by its Chairman, Salimon Adeleke , as part of the appraisal of the 2012 budget.Sangofadeji noted that the desire of the agency was to ensure safety on the state roads, adding that there had been a reduction in the number of traffic offenders in the state in the last eight months when compared with the situation in the previous years.The Chairman of the committee, Adeleke commended TRACE for being able to reduce carnage on major roads across the state and urged the personnel of the agency not to relent in this regard.The committee members pledged the support of their colleagues' to the agency.The committee members also visited the Bureau of Transportation and the Parks and Garages Development Board where they charged the two agencies to be more proactive in their activities.Meanwhile, the Ogun State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to designing series of training to address some gaps in knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviours of its workforce in order to improve their job performance, work habits and the general standard of the seventh legislature.The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Honourable Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, gave this assurance while declaring open a 3-day capacity building seminar for the staff of the House of Assembly held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.The Speaker said it was a demonstration of the commitment of the leadership of the Assembly to enhance the knowledge of all parliamentary staff in their areas of operation in legislative practice in the state.The 3-day workshop was one of the series of seminars put together by the seventh legislature for both the law makers and the staff of the Assembly.The Speaker, represented by his deputy, Omotola Banjo Peter, submitted that the aim of the training was to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and productivity in legislative practice and administrative procedure.
