Ekiti to get power project

EKITI State Governor Kayode Fayemi at the weekend disclosed that the state would soon have its Independent Power Project (IPP) to boost electricity supply to the state.He said this was necessary for the industrial takeoff of the state. Fayemi who spoke to journalists in Ado Ekiti said unless the state had its IPP, both small and medium scale industry would continue to suffer in the state.Fayemi who announced that Samsung International from South Korea would before the end of the year begin its assemblage factory in Ado Ekiti said he was in that country to complete the deal.He told those accusing him of wasting state's funds on frequent foreign trips that the state was not responsible for the financing of such trips.He said he had been paying from his pockets to sponsor such trips since the inception of his administration.He said the trips were meant to attract foreign investors to the state with a view to developing it.
