Oginni builds school for Odogbo-Ijesa

IN a bid to contribute to the educational development at the grass roots, Oba Olatunde Oginni, the Olodogbo I of Odogbo-Ijesa in Osun State, has constructed a nursery and primary school for his community and equipped it with modern learning facilities.The school which was named after the Bishop of Ilesa Anglican Diocese, Rt. Reverened Olubayo Sowale, is the first of such in the fast-growing community that has only one public primary school.The traditional ruler disclosed this to newsmen during the inspection tour of the school, saying the primary school was the first phase as work would soon begin on secondary school. Oginni further noted that the education of his people would be the next on his agenda after touching every other important aspects of their lives, like health, commerce, water and electricity.'After I had meticulously studied the challenges facing my people three years after the death of my father, the Aro I of Odogbo-Ijesa, Pa Idowu Oginni, I identified lack of sound education as a major factor facing my people. And that is why I decided to invest and develop the educational standard of my people, so that Odogbo-Ijesa community can enjoy and have access to good and qualitative education like their counterparts in the urban centre,' he stated.Speaking further, Oginni affirmed that 'In order to encourage and alleviate my people's burden, we are going to give out customised text- books, exercise books, schoolbags and shoes to the kids who would be resuming for studies every session.
