Dreamliner: Guild of Tourism Journalists commend Ethiopian Airlines

The Guild of Tourism Journalists has commended the management of Africa's most profitable airline, Ethiopian Airways for deploying its new Dreamliner Boeing 787 aircraft on the Nigerian route.The Guild, in a statement signed by its President, Mr Wale-Ojo Lanre, said the decision of the airline has further proven it holds its Nigerian passengers in high esteem because Nigeria ranks as one of its top destinations in the world for the past 52 years.Besides, Ojo Lanre maintained that the development would further boost tourism and patronage for the airline because only few airlines consider Nigeria as a hub of aviation business in Africa, adding that the feat recorded by Ethiopian Airways has further confirmed its leadership status in the aviation and travel industry in Africa and beyond.'The Ethiopian Airline super plane Dreamliner Boeing 787 is the first of its kind in Africa and is technically advanced with the capacity of 290 passengers. This is a big boost for the Nigerian aviation industry.'For us as a Guild of Tourism journalists who believe and practise development journalism ,' we are happy with the decision of the airline to respect Nigerians and deploy the latest in its fleet on the Nigeria route. This has gone to show that Nigerians are not second class citizens but rather, a group of people, who deserve, nothing but the best. On our part, we will continue to partner with the airline through the reportage of its activities in a fair, balanced, accurate and professional manner,' Ojo Lanre promised.Ojo-Lanre further appealed to travelling Nigerians to sustain the confidence posted ' in us by this African airline which believes that Nigerians deserve the best by patronising and offering the airline management useful suggestions and advice as necessary. We as Nigerians should honour those who honour us and bless those who bless us.'Some of the features of the new B787 is an advanced technology system installed in the aircraft. The altitude inside the aircraft is 600 metres from the other jetliners, which will make it more comfortable for the passengers. It also has high humidity which will make it easier for passengers to travel, and there is no dryness that you will feel inside like in the other commercial aircraft.The aircraft is the first commercial aircraft that will have a large window; that enables one see to the inside, outside, and has features on it which are controlled electronically according to one's requirements.
