NPL mandates clubs to attend Soccerex Seminar

THE Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has mandated all the Premier League clubs to participate in the 2012 Soccerex event scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.In a letter signed by Sunday Obaseki on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary, Tunji Babalola, and sent to the chairmen of all NPL clubs, the body directed that each participant was expected to come along with his club's autographed jersey for display at the event, stressing that the clubs could gain from the event.The NPL noted that the seminar is the first of its kind in Nigeria, hence, the need for all Premiership clubs to avail themselves the viable economic and sponsorship opportunities the event would offer.And as part of efforts to encourage the clubs to participate, the NPL management will pay participation fees for the clubs, which it would recoup during the registration for the 2012/2013 league season. It added, however, that participants would be responsible for their transportation and hotel expenses.
