All set for South-South Peace Cup

COME November 3, all roads will lead to the ancient town of Bomadi in Delta State, as sports personalities from the South-South region converge for the opening ceremony of the maiden Penawou Peace/Unity Football Competition for local council areas in Delta and Bayelsa states.According to the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Timi Ebikagboro, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has put in place sufficient facilities for the comfort of all the participating teams and officials.Sponsor of the tournament, Prince Joe T. Penawou, has expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and work by the LOC so far. Penawou, who was in Bomadi on an on-the-spot assessment of preparations for the competition, was happy with the facilities in place, both at Olou and Ebikeniye Primary schools, as well as the facility at Kpakiama and Bomadi football pitches.The facilities will be used for the knockout phase of the competition, while the Akugbene Grammar School football pitch is scheduled to host the finals. Also, hotel accommodation for the match officials has been arranged.
