Yakubu's goal lifts Guangzhou

NIGERIAN international striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni was the cynosure of all eyes as his 80th minute strike earned his Chinese club the maximum points against a resilient Guizhou Renhe.Yakubu, who joined Guangzhou R&F from English Premiership side, Blackburn Rovers, sent the fans at the Tuexiushan Stadium in Guangzhou into wide jubilation yesterday when he struck in the closing minutes to give his club a crucial victory.Guangzhou R&F are now third on the Chinese Super League table with 41 points from 26 games. They are 10 points behind city rivals and league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande FC with four rounds of matches to be played.Their next game is away to Changchun Yatai on Saturday. Yakubu has been on super form since he moved to China. He has now scored seven goals in the league from eight games.
