Misuse MDGs fund, get punished 'Rep

THE chairman, House Committee on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ado Alhassan Doguwa, has warned that officials of of government, whether at the federal, state or local level, found diverting MDGs fund to other projects or found wanting in its implementation would be sanctioned in accordance with the 1999 Constitution.He said the House Committee on MDGs would embark on a fact finding mission to some selected states and offices of parastatal agencies of the Federal Government to ascertain the level of implementation of the MDGs based on funds made available to them.According to him, there is a laid down punishment enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be meted out to any government agency or whosoever is found guilty of diverting such funds.
