Ex-Ondo gov petitions CJN

FORMER governorof Ondo State, DrOlusegun Agagu, has petitioned the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mrs Aloma Mukhtar, seeking her intervention over his removal from office in 2009 by the Court of Appeal, based on State Security Service (SSS) reports presented by the Labour Party, but which the police have found to be forged.In the letter addressed to the CJN, dated September 28, 2012, signed by Agagu and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday, the fromer governor said the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which pronounced the Labour Party as the winner of the 2007 governorship election, was fraudulently procured through the forged SSS reports, which the tribunal relied on in nullifying the elections in 10 local government councils won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Relying on the report of investigation by the police dated October 25, 2010, signed by Ali Amodu (Commissioner of Police, Special Investigation Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja) and addressed to the Inspector General of Police, entitled: "Police Investigation Report On A Case of Forgery and Altering of State Security Service Report," which submitted that "the security reports tendered at the tribunal were forged and did not emanate from the service,' Agagu, in the petition to the CJN, submitted that, 'it is against public interest for a party in a suit to produce fraudulent evidence to deceive the court into giving him a favourable judgment.
