Lagos drivers commend Agbede's approach

Members of theNational Unionof Road Transport. Workers [NURTW] in Lagos. State have attributed the continued existence of the union in the state to the "maturity" exhibited by the chairman of the council, Alhaji Tajudeen AgbedeThe union members also commended the sense of professionalism. displayed by the state NURTw chairman since his assumption of office which has kept the union moving.Some of the transport union members claimed that "if not for chairman's maturity in the state government would have looked for an excuse to outrightly ban the union in Lagos State.They also commended Alhaji Agbede for reconciling the two warring fatcions in the state council, describing the peace parley as a way to bring about permanent peance in the union"A member of the union who simply identified himself as Alhaji Siyanbola, while speaking with Community News, lauded Agbede for being a" real union man.""He is a real union man and a professional. You can see the way he has been handling the union issues since he was sworn in as the chairman of our union in Lagos State."Alhaji Siyanbola further said that" if not for him, the Lagos State government would have banned our union in Lagos State, but he showed that he has been part of transport union for a long time."He also refuted insinuation that the newly introduced traffic law in the state would have adverse effect on the activities of NURTW in the state"My brother Agbede has never supported the idea of operating along the highways and he was also planning to take those boys away from the road when the government came up with the law.Another member of the union , who identified himself as Justo, commended the Lagos NURTW boss for ' doing what even some political leaders in the state could not do.'Justo said the problem the union had was the inability of our two powerful leaders to agree .'Not even the state government and some political leaders could settle them, but Alhaji Olorunwa was able to do that.
