Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Paul Pogba and Radja Nainggolan Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Fri, 24 Jun 2016

Chelsea may be disappointed in their bid to sign Paul Pogba after it emerged Juventus are reportedlyready to offer their star a new bumper deal to stay in Turin. Plus, Radja Nainggolan is prepared to reject the Blues and stay at AS Roma.According to the Guardian's Italian expert Fabrizio Romano, the Bianconeri are ready to offer Pogba a new contract worth7 million (5.4 million) a year and extend his stay until the summer of 2021.That deal would see the France playmaker rake in 27 million over the course of a five-year deal but would be equal to just over 100,000 a week before tax, a figure he could undoubtedly beat if he left Turin.Manchester United and Real Madrid have been linked as two of the frontrunners in the hunt for Pogba, and Romano added Juve are demanding a world-record fee of 120 million (91.7 million) for the player:Thankfully, any suitors can at least take comfort in the fact the Serie A champions are only demanding 100 million (85 million) of that figure up front, with the rest to be paid in instalments.Milanese journalist Tancredi Palmeri recently provided quotes from Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, who suggested Pogba could leave the Old Lady if he senses his future lies elsewhere:Chelsea may struggle to tempt one of the world's most coveted stars to west London without the offer of UEFA Champions League football, having stumbled to 10th place in the Premier League last season. However, owner Roman Abramovich is eager to spend as much as is needed this summer in order to restore Chelsea's European status, especially after so many of the club's players disappointed last season. The Blues may have also hit a wall in their pursuit of Roma anchor Nainggolan, who has already spoken to incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and given the Giallorossi his vow to stay in Rome.According to theMirror's James Whaling, the Belgium midfielder spoke to Roma president James Pallotta and reassured the figurehead he's enjoying his time at the Stadio Olimpico:I said to him I love where I am playing so why not stay'Chelseawere talking but at the moment there is nothing. The Premier League is a big competition, its lovely, but I think sometimes in life you need to make choices, and all I can say is that I am happy where I am.Nainggolan has impressed on duty with Belgium at Euro 2016 and scored a sensational 1-0 winner against Sweden, as shown byComplexmagazine:Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic disappointed in Chelsea's engine room last season, leaving John Obi Mikel to enjoy something of a revival at Stamford Bridge. However, the west Londoners' approaches for both Pogba and Nainggolan may see the English giants stunted in their bid for summer reinforcements, forcing Conte to return to the drawing board.Read more World Football news on BleacherReport.com
