England vs. Iceland: Live Stream, Odds and Form Guide for Euro 2016

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 27 Jun 2016

England and Iceland will meet at theAllianz Riviera, Nice, in the last 16 of UEFA Euro 2016 on Monday for the right to face hosts France in the quarter-final, with the Three Lions heavy betting favourites despite stumbling through the group stage. Both sides made workmanlike progress from the group stages, each taking five points from three games. England only found the net three times in as many Group B matches, while Iceland bagged a quartet of goals in Group F.The match will feature plenty of talent from the Premier League, including Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson, who will face a host of former Tottenham Hotspur team-mates.Before a preview, here is the form guide and streaming information, along with odds for the match:Date: Monday, June 27Time:8 p.m. (BST) / 3 p.m. (ET)Live Stream:ITV Player(UK), WatchESPN(U.S.)All odds courtesy ofOdds Shark,OddscheckerandSmartBets.PreviewThree Lions manager Roy Hodgson may reshuffle things after England finished behind Wales in Group B following a drab 0-0 draw with Slovakia in their final group match, according to Lewis Dean of Sky Sports. He wrote: "Wayne Rooneywho will equal David Beckham's record for most caps for an outfield player (115) if he playsis almost certain to regain his position in the starting line-up, as is Dele Alli, who came on as a substitute against Slovakia."Rooney's care and class on the ball are vital qualities to a team now geared to playing on the deck and fashioning chances from patient buildup play. He's 6-1 to be named man of the match, a solid bet considering how he dictated play for England during the group stage. But it's the late runs fromDele Alli that can transform steady passing combinations into goals. The Tottenham manhas the crucial supporting role for centre-forward Harry Kane, who has appeared jaded so far at the tournament.Yet, the Spurs striker has rejected suggestions he's tired after a long domestic season, per James Olley of theLondon Evening Standard:Despite his bravado, though, Kane has seemed far from himself during the early stages of this competition. In particular, his tendency to drop deep off the front is taking him out of the areas where he can influence games. When he's on form, Kane can undermine any defence. But if the 22-year-old doesn't regain some of his swagger soon, Hodgson will have no choice but to turn to one of Jamie Vardy or Daniel Sturridge, whose pace offers a different threat.Kane is still 7-4 to be an anytime goalscorer, despite his struggles. However, Vardy and Sturridge are both 2-1, perhaps a reflection of the selection dilemma facing Hodgson. One familiar face to keep an eye on will be 37-year-old Iceland forward Eidur Gudjohnsen. The former Chelsea and Barcelona attacker has called this "the biggest game in footballing history for Iceland," according to Tom Dutton of the London Evening Standard.Gudjohnsen still has the intelligence and technique to cause problems for England in the final third if he has a chance off the bench. However, the bigger focus will be on what Hodgson does with a talented squad that's so far failed to click at Euro 2016. BBC Sport's Phil McNulty has dubbed this Hodgson's "day of destiny."On paper, his team should have little trouble booking a place in the last eight. However, if England falter on the pitch again, a crafty and resolute Iceland will produce the upset.
