Deaconness Abiodun for burial tomorrow

MRS. Christianah Adebola Abiodun (nee Adisa), a Deputy Director of Education in the Inspectorate Division at Lagos State's Education District VI who passed on in Lagos recently will be buried at Victoria Court, Victoria Garden City, Lekki tomorrow after a funeral service at Christ Baptist Church, Gbagada at 9.00 a.m.Today, a commendation and testimony service for her will hold at Close B, Alhaji Adekunle Bisi Street, Hillview Estate, Ogudu GRA at 5.00 p.m.She attended United Missionary College (UMC) Molete, Ibadan, for her Teachers' Certificate Grade II (1979-1980). In 1980, she proceeded to Oyo (now Osun) State College of Education in Ila Orangun for the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) programme, which she completed in 1985. She was admitted for a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) degree in Guidance and Counseling and Language Arts in 1994 at the University of Ibadan. She graduated in 1998.Mrs. Abiodun was appointed a classroom teacher by the then Oyo State Central Schools Board, Ibadan August 1, 1980. She taught in various schools in the state before she joined the Lagos Teaching Service Commission on inter-state transfer in 1989.She was a conscientious and diligent worker, attributes that took her to the position of Deputy Director of Education. A seasoned teacher, an educationist and a professional Guidance Counselor, she took delight in encouraging people and caring for the young ones especially.A devout Christian, she served in various departments in the church for many years and was ordained a deaconess at the Ajayi Dahunsi Memorial Baptist Church on June 27, 2009. In pursuit of her spiritual life too, she joined other Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem in November 2010.
