Personal Evangelism (VI)Memory Verse: 'Behold all souls are mine.' -Ezekiel 18:4aBible Passage: -John 4:19-42Introduction:THE guidelines, set out last week, notwithstanding, discernment by the revelation of the Holy Spirit is a key factor.Today, we will look at how to handle the spiritual profile of souls.The CarefreeThe sword of the spirit should be used to prod the carefree soul into seriousness, acknowledgement of the brevity and vanity of life, and the gravity of dying a sinner -Rom. 3:23; Rom. 1:18; 6:23; and also the danger of rejecting salvation -Heb. 2:3; 10:28-29; Jn. 3:17. He should be pointed to Christ -I Pet. 2:24; II Cor. 5:21 and should be told to look, seek, call, come, taste, receive and totally surrender to Jesus alone -Isa. 45:22; Isa. 55:6; Rom. 10:13; Matt. 11:28-30; Rev. 22:17; John 1:12; Jam. 4:7; II Tim. 1:12; Acts 16:30-31. He should be led to confess the Lordship of Christ -Rom. 10:9; II Cor. 5:15. He should be warned not to return to his vomit and be followed until fully established in the faith.The DeceivedAll doctrinal errors must be carefully rectified and fully aligned with scripture. Do not be derogatory, condescending, argumentative or haughty. Paul warned Timothy: 'Take heed to yourself and your doctrine to save yourself and your hearers.' Salvation is by faith alone and not by works. The following scriptures will help: Acts 10:43; 13:39; I Jn. 5:13; Jn. 5:24; Lk. 23:14; Jn. 14:6; 16:23; Acts 10:25; Jn. 2:5; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8-10; Ps. 119; 130 and Heb. 4:12.ConclusionThe harvest is ripe. You can be God's sickle for the endtime harvest of souls -Joel 3:13. Rise today. Tomorrow may be too late.
