Dickson To APC Leaders: Bring Federal Presence To Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson weekend mocked the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over their inability to draw from the power of the party at the centre and bring federal appointments and projects to the state.According to Governor Dickson, rather than the leaders of the APC in Bayelsa state to embark on divisive tendencies that polarise the people of the state along party lines, they should use their party membership to ammend the non-inclusion of Bayelsan people at the federal level in line with the federal character principle.Governor Seriake Dickson, according to a statement issued yesterday by his chief press secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, made the observation during the State Monthly Praise Night at the Palace of Melchizedek, in Toru Orua his hometown, Sagbama local government of the state.Dickson said, Bayelsa State deserves adequate representation considering the fact that it contributes immensely to the national economy.The time has come for all Bayelsans to key into the restoration agenda, and also extend a hand of fellowship to members of the main opposition party to close ranks with his administration in actualising the vision of the restoration agenda.Dickson said his political opponents still remained brothers and sisters, stressing that the state required the collective efforts of all stakeholders irrespective of party affiliations to enable it make progress.While restating that the task of developing the state is a collective one, he said that Bayelsa has had enough distractions and divisions, particularly when the country is grappling with daunting economic challenges.
