PMAN Urges Kaduna Govt To Rehabilitate Gamji Park

Dazang Gwom, Chairman, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in Kaduna State, has called for the total rehabilitation of Kadunas major event centre, the Gamji Gate Park, currently overtaken by weeds and reptiles.Gwom said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kaduna that the park, which used to be a beehive of activities, had been deserted.According to him, the park had attracted comedians, dancers and other entertainers, who perform daily to earn a living.The chairman said that PMAN had organised activities at the park which attracted huge crowd, who flocked to watch different artistes perform.A lot of upcoming artistes use the busy park to showcase their talents. Regular visitors to the park normally pay between N200 and N300, while others pay up to N1000 for added value of an afternoon with their favourite artistes, he said.Gwom urged the Kaduna State Government to resuscitate the park to exploits its full potentials.The state Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Dr Shehu Adamu, said the government would soon renovate and expand the facility to attract tourists.(NAN)
