Why I Appealed Courts Decision On NFFGiwa

Factional leader of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ambassador Chris Giwa has explained why he has taken the leadership tussle rocking football house to the Supreme Court.He said his group has had to go to the final court of the land to decide who legally takes over the headship of the glass house.We have been able, by the grace of God, to appeal to the Supreme Court. Appeal is different from stay- of-execution. They are two different processes. We have filed an appeal and we have filed a stay-of-execution, saying that we do not agree with the judgment.The Court of Appeal has given us September 19, 2016 for the motion of stay-of-execution to be heard. Once that is done by law that judgment is ineffective till when that motion is argued.In view of the fore-going, we have patiently pursued slow but sure processes in our laws. We have secured all legal decisions that guarantee our place in the management of Nigerian football, Giwa said.He assured football-lovers of his willingness to abide by any decision the Supreme Court takes regarding the authentic leadership of the NFF, pointing out that only a mad man would deliberately disobey the order.
