Donald Trump's Sexism Strikes Again

Published by Huffington Post on Sat, 06 Aug 2016

Donald Trump still can't get over being called out on his sexism by Megyn Kelly, and he's still harping on how the media jumped on his vile remarks about her. But there's a new twist to the ongoing story. There aren't any women on his list of economic advisors. And asked yesterday about what women he might appoint to his Cabinet if he wins, he replied:"I can tell you everybody would say, 'Put Ivanka in, put Ivanka in,' you know that, right' She's very popular, she's done very well, and you know Ivanka very well."Think about the stupendous lack of judgment involved in making a comment like that. What's his daughter's expertise' She's been a model. She's designed jewelry. She once hosted the Miss Teen USA Pageant. And of course, she works for Daddy. As for popularity, why not Taylor Swift, who's beloved by many more people, if that's a criterion for a Cabinet post.Trump couldn't come up with the name of a single woman governor, member of Congress, diplomat, professor, economist, jurist or anyone in any field qualifying her for a government position. As he likes to say in his tweets: Sad!Trump compounded his ignorance about who should be in his Cabinet by telling his woman interviewer, "But there really are so many that are really talented people -- like you, you're so talented, but I don't know if your viewers know that." Why would he suggest a TV personality few people have ever heard of' Because she used to work for him in his organization. So there you have it: his first choices are his daughter and a former employee. Why not Olivia Pope from Scandal' She knows her way around Washington. Oh, wait, she's fictional--like so much that Trump says.....Lev Raphael is the author of 25 books in genres from mystery to memoir that you can find on Amazon. -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
