Olympic Archery 2016: Men's Individual Medal Winners, Results and Final Scores

Ku Bon-chan won his second gold medal of the 2016 Olympics with a 7-3 victory over France's Jean-Charles Valladont in the men's individual archery final in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.The South Koreancompleted a clean sweep for his nation, which claimed gold in all four of the archery disciplines.Ku was again in top form as he continued his run of success after leading South Korea to gold against the United States in the team competition.America tasted medal success as well, asBrady Ellison defeated Sjef van den Berg of the Netherlands in the bronze-medal match, 6-2.Here are the standings for the event:And here's a look at the updated medal count from Rio: RecapKu again proved he has no equal in archery, as the 23-year-old stormed to the individual gold medal to double his haul in Brazil.The South Korean scored 142, compared toValladont's 138, as he prevailed 7-3 in the final.The champion hit eight perfect 10s on his way to the gold, while the Frenchman obtained six.Ku posted a perfect first set, as he scored 30 points in his three opening runs. The South Korean prodigy dropped only eight points over the final four sets as he wracked up an incredible run of scoring.Valladont was in excellent form, but he lacked the natural ability of the young master. The opening setdevastatedhisgame plan, allowing Ku to race his way to the top medal.Ellison took care of Van den Berg in four sets as he wrestled the bronze from the talented Dutch archer.A perfect run of 30 points in the third set gave Team USA another medal as the Netherlands athlete lostmomentum.Ku was the deserved winner, and his form in the team event foreshadowed his success Friday. The Asian athlete is the best archer on the planet and hadValladont's number from the start of their final match.
