Sevilla vs. Barcelona: Live Stream, Prediction for 2016 Spanish Super Cup Leg 1

Published by Bleacher Report on Sun, 14 Aug 2016

Barcelona take on Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Sunday in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.Unlike the Community Shield, which serves as the curtain-raiser for the Premier League, if a team wins both La Liga and the Copa del Rey in the previous seasonas Barcelona didthey will face the runners-up of the latter competition rather than the former.Barca beat Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final 2-0 in May, but with Jorge Sampaoli now in charge of the Europa League holders following Unai Emery's departure to Paris Saint-Germain it could be a very different match indeed.Read on for a closer look at how the two teams are shaping up, but first here are the viewing details you need:Date: Sunday, August 14Time: 9 p.m. BST/4 p.m. ETTV: Sky Sports 1 (UK), ESPN (USA)Live Stream: Sky Go, WatchESPNBarca have played four pre-season friendlies in the run-up to this game, the most recent of which was a 3-2 victory over Sampdoria on Wednesday.Unsurprisingly, it fell to Lionel Messi to produce the moment of the match as he set up Luis Suarez with an astonishing overhead kick. Sportsnet's Faizal Khamisa shared Fox's coverage of the highlight:The Argentinian also bagged two goals himself. Even without Neymarwho is currently on Olympic duty with Brazilthey're more than capable of hurting Sevilla. However, it's at the back where the problems lie.The Blaugrana conceded in all four friendlies, including two apiece against Sampdoria and Leicester City and a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool. To make matters worse, Sport's Rik Sharmareported that Marc-Andre ter Stegen has sprained a ligament in his knee and will miss the match. The German shared a snapshot of his recovery from the injury:While Claudio Bravo has proved to be a reliable stopper for Barca, the loss of Ter Stegen is hardly ideal.By contrast, while Sevilla lost their UEFA Super Cup tie with Real Madrid, they already look to be adapting their game to Sampaoli's methods. The Argentinian guided Chile to the 2015 Copa America title, and his La Roja side was dynamic and committed to harrying their opponents into giving up possession of the ball. His Sevilla side are already doing just thatthey pressed with pace and energy against Real Madrid and even dominated possession, per OptaJose:Spanish football expert Sergi Dominguez was impressed:Controlling the majority of the ball will be even more difficult against Barca, but a similar pressing strategy could yield results against a defence that has not looked particularly solid thus far in pre-season.In the Super Cup last year Barcelona lost the first legwhich was also away from home4-0, which could indicate they're slow starters in the season. The Blaugrana are favourites in virtually all their matches, with good reason given their personnel and winning habit, but Sevilla have an excellent chance of taking the first leg here.Prediction: Sevilla win 2-0
