At the time, it was unclear how long he would be out of the lineup, but test results showed a torn meniscus.It is not known at this time whether Billings had a full repair or had the torn part of his meniscus removed. This can determine the length of recovery time,particularlyin the case of athletes. Removal expedites recovery time but can lead to lingering long-term problems; a repair tends to take longer to heal.Billings was a potential first-round pick who fell all the way to Round 4 in partover injury concerns.Jessica Morreyof KCEN cited a source that denied Billings had a knee injury, and he appeared to enter camp with a clean bill of health.A three-year contributor to Baylor's defensive line, Billings made 31 solo tackles (14 for loss) and 5.5 sacks in 2015. He was expected to compete for a spot role in the line rotation behind Domata Peko this season.
