Japanese Surgeon Promises Dream Team $30,000 If They Win Gold

Published by Leadership on Tue, 16 Aug 2016

A Japanese plastic surgeon, Katsuya Takasu, has promised each member of the Nigerias Dream Team VI squad $30,000 if win Rio 2016 Olympics football gold medal. He also pledged $20,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze after the hearing financial crisis that has plagued the national U-23 team. The Japanese is excited with the Dream Teams progression to the semifinals of the Rio Olympics football where they will meet Germany amidst financial crisis that held them up in Atlanta, USA and they had to arrive in Brazil six hours before the game against Japan where they managed to scrape through by 5-4 in their opening match.Should Coach Samson Siasias side succeeded in winning gold and the Japanese ends up paying the cash, he should to pay the players directly rather than through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) whose president, Amaju Pinnick was allegedly sighted in London watching his favourite team, Arsenal lose to Liverpool in the opening game of the Premier League season.Nigerias progression in the Olympic tournament has been impressive. Winning their first two pool games against a strong Japanese side and Sweden, they had already topped their group before losing to Colombia.I read about the financial problems affecting the team and I felt the need to make a big contribution.I am not doing this for media attention but to motivate a team with an indomitable spirit. I fell in love with the Nigerian team because despite all these problems they are in the semifinals of the Olympics.Whether they win or not, I will still donate something to help alleviate the challenges in paying their bonuses and allowances, Takasu was quoted by BBC.
