Dalung Debunks Another Tale Of Blackmail

Minister of Youth & Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has expressed shock at the latest tale of blackmail making the round in the media that family members of the ministry and NOC officials are on a shopping spree at the Olympic games in Brazil.A report in some of the Nigerian dailies on Monday alleged that some ministry officials, alongside their wives and children were in Brazil on the bill of the ministry having fun at the games at the expense of people who have true business at the games.This, according to the special adviser to the minister, Maiwada Danmallam, is very untrue and maliciously written to paint a false situation of what is happening at the games.He said: This is another blackmail, and a very cheap one at that. It is very unfortunate that some members of the media have decided to continue to run malicious stories on the ministry and its efforts to ensure team Nigeria is well represented at the ongoing Olympic games.The records are there for everyone to see how many persons are in the ministrys delegation to Rio and the ministry can only cater for those who have business at the games in Brazil.The minister appeals to the sporting media not to be bias and malicious in their reportage just because they are looking to sell their medium, Danmallam said.
