Bishop Oyedepo's daughter, heavily criticized after she described herself as " I'm crazy" (photos)

Published by Kemi Filani on Tue, 16 Aug 2016

Sorecently, Joy, one of the daughters of Bishop Oyedepo of Winners' chapel posted a controversial message on her Facebook page. The message reads thus:Those who know me know that I'm crazy. I don't blend in. I'm the one who's yingin' when everyone else is yangin'. I've been called an outcast by many outsiders. But the more I tried to fit in, the more I stood out. My differences wouldn't let me stay the same.Everyday, I've come to let the differences that make me, shine through. Tired of the need to stay the same, I've come to accept the real me. I'm not the same. And as long as I stay rare, there'd always be a need for all of me. For there would always be room for rarity. I have decided not to let the miracle of my birth be the sole miracle of my existence. The proof, is in my crazy. The message did not go down with some of her followers and they condemned her for using such a word as 'crazy". One Benard Omoyeni said "Joy, I liked your post at the instance of seeing the face of the beloved daughter of my Spiritual father and mentor, but quickly noticed that the post cannot be associated with you. This post is most dissapointing and misleading. This is a post of the detractors for the detractors, this empty message cannot be from the loin of my Father!"One Xtiana Gabriel wrote "Sis...honestly this write up doesn't suit you at all.....u are looked upon by many to be using this kind of words..........kinda disappointed. ...I wonder what pple like in this"While one Adebunmi Oluwafemi Solomon said "Joy..Joy! I just finished reading your message.I really do not have to say anything or better still have the right to criticise you but dear there are diplomatic ways to convey your message or proof what you stand for that won't include your family or the faith you are born into... Millions if not billions are saved bcos of this faith ...will u let how you feel in order to proof ur point to very few pple that don't even count to nothing decide the damage this will cause... You are greater than this and I believe you to be stronger."And one Lamson Onmonya said "I'm struggling to understand her. Is she trying to abandon the faith she was raised with'"And one Tina Ben Ify said "Could it be that her account is hacked' Cos I don't understand this at all... Let me believe that this not u in other not to develop HBP tonight. "One Ayobami Ogunniran wrote "My dear sis,if this statement is to promote the kingdom of God,there is no problem, but if this craziness is not to promote His kingdom then pls watch it.Knowing fully well that, a lot of people are looking up to you as a role model "One Janet Ogadima Eric Okemmiri wrote "Don't let material things enter your head always know you are a child of GOD a born again for that, so watch your words cos they are life"While one Alicia Mberebor Gabriel said "English language, see what u ve caused, lol. In simple English, she is just trying to say she has a different personality and don't except her to be like some else, and its the differences in her that distinguish her from others even her family member at times. Which applies to every1 one of us as Christians. Appreciate who God has made u to be, instead of trying to be some1 else be the best u can be. Of course when som1 is different pple see them as crazy, well Dont know about u guys but as for me like Joys, I'm crazy for the Lord. " Well, Joy has reacted to the criticisms! She posted this other message moments ago.I've received way too many personal messages about this post below and so for the honest few, I have chosen to make a few things clear. It seems that many of us have misunderstood things too easily. You all have seen my posts for a while now, some of you have seen them for years on end, and you know that I absolutely adore my family. That cannot, has not, and will not ever change. Anyone who tries to insinuate any different is purely looking for loopholes that just don't exist. To that group, you may need to find more profitable work because that, already is a failed venture. Then, there is this other group that expects me to be EXACTLY like my mother or sister, who are role models to many including myself. especially myself. Thing is, you also may need to edit your expectation because that too, will not be happening. I'm me and will never be anyone else. can never be anyone else. and will not even try to. I love that my sister and I are not walking replicas of my mother. she teaches us not to be. she teaches that we are who God has called us to be, and that, with all sincerity. our differences make us unique, and that makes us an epic loving family. that, we are grateful to God for. Ps, "crazy" purely means/meant different. this, you would understand if you read through the post honestly, completely and some of us, without negative intent. So, to those who honestly were confused on the original post, I hope you have recieved the needed clarity. but to those still looking for loopholes, sorry. failed venture. Be you. Be who God created you to be. Yes, have role models (& you always can start with my mother and sister--right here on facebook even if you have nowhere else to turn). But don't ever try to dim your uniqueness to fit in with the "world's" definition of perfect. God bless y'all.
