(HD) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $2.44 billion.The Atlanta-based company said it had profit of $1.97 per share.The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.96 per share.The home-improvement retailer posted revenue of $26.47 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $26.44 billion.Home Depot expects full-year earnings to be $6.31 per share.Home Depot shares have increased roughly 4 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 7 percent.
