Solid Mineral Exploration: Al-Makura Woos FG, Private Investors To Nasarawa

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has urged the Federal Government and private investors to invest in the abundant mineral resources in the state.He made the appeal at the 10th National Council on Environment held in Lafia yesterday.Al-Makura said about 70 solid minerals abound in the state in commercial quantity that needed to be harnessed as an alternative source of revenue generation.I can assure you that Nasarawa state will give you all the necessary conducive environment and conditions that will ensure the success of your endeavours and your enterprise.You are welcome to meet with us at anytime and you are rest assured that we are ready to support you, he said.The governor espressed appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Environment for including the state among the 19 states to benefit from Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Programme (NEWMAP) and pledged the state governments support for the project.We will give the project team all the institutional support that will make it not only to succeed but to be the best amongst the chosen 19 states of the federation.
