Iroko, 40, a father of two and a native of Delta State was arraigned on Monday before an Ota Magistrate's Court, Ogun State, on a two-count charge and was subsequently granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties, who must be regular tax payers in the state, in like sum. However, the accused could not perfect the bail conditions until yesterday. Iroko, who spoke with newsmen shortly after he left the prison ward in Abeokuta, described his experience as good and educative. When asked how he felt after leaving the prison yard, he said: 'I am so happy. It is a joy to me. I have missed my family; that was most painful. 'Prison is a place to experienced in one's life. It is like a rehabilitation home: you learn many things there and there are many people you may not have the opportunity to talk to. 'But in prison, you will sit down with them and discuss. There are many things you take for granted, but when you go to prison you know there is law. 'The only thing I am regretting about my coming to prison is the intimidation from the Hausa community. Going to prison is a golden moment for me.''I have Obama, Joe' Explaining why he named his dog Buhari, he said: 'As a matter of fact, they misunderstood me. I have three dogs: one bears Obama, one bears Joe, an abbreviation of my name. The third is named Buhari. 'I named these dogs after my role models. My late dog was named after Nelson Mandela. I don't just give any name to my dogs. I give reputable names to my dogs. It is love I have for Buhari; he is my role model.'Buhari is not the President of the North. He is the President of Nigeria. I see no reason why Northerners should intimidate me: Nigeria is one. 'I see no reason why they will be intimidating me. It is my right to name my dog any name. 'Thank God, I have regained my freedom. The most painful thing is the way they treated my dog. I am not happy that they killed my dog, while I was in detention. 'It is my dog, it is my pet. I love my dogs. They have no right to kill my dog. 'Nigerians should know that there are other dogs in other areas that bear Jack as name. Why is Buhari so special. It is a name that has been existing for several years.' Matters took a funny twist when Iroko was stranded after he was released, as he did not have transport fare to go to his Sango residence. 'Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, has said the President must be having a good laugh over the dog saga. Garba Shehu tweeted: 'People should listen to the real story behind this dog incident and not waste precious time seeking the hand of the President in a laughable incident! 'President Buhari must be having a good laugh over this whole thing, as it is cheap and sensational to say he can order a police action against a caricature.' He further tweeted that anybody linking Buhari to the dog incident is displaying ignorance.Expect more arrests, prosecution ' Oshiomhole tells PDPAny member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo who goes against the law would be arrested and prosecuted.Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, said this while responding to threats by the PDP to carry out mass protest over the arrest of 13 of its members.Speaking at a meeting with youths from Ovia North-East, who were at Edo Government House, he explained that the PDP members were arrested for going against the law, adding that they had been charged to court to show that the state was not a banana republic.'As long as I am here, there is no exemption for anyone. Nobody has the right to behave like an emperor.'We were carrying poles to extend electricity to some villages but they (PDP) arranged some boys to block the vehicle.'They forced the driver to stop, attacked one of our commissioners and said nothing will happen'' he said.IDPs protest over hunger, thirst in MaiduguriReports reaching DAILY POST have it that Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, from various camps are currently protesting in Maiduguri, Borno State. The IDPs, mostly women and children, took to the streets to protest against hunger and thirst in their respective camps. The aggrieved IDPs barricaded the city's main entrance, causing a gridlock along the Kano-Maiduguri highway.Explaining the reason for the protest, an IDP, identified simply as Aisha, said, 'We are not fighting but fighting for our survival. We are kept like prisoners without food.'Buhari's administration has saved N1.4trn by not paying subsidy on fuel ' OsinbajoThe Federal Government, on Tuesday said it has saved N1.4 trillion for not paying subsidy on oil.The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, made the disclosure during the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on development meeting in Kano State.Osinbajo also sued for patience from Nigerians, assuring that President Muhammadu Buhari's administration would fix the economy.According to Osinbajo, 'With the deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector, there has been a significant increase in the availability of petrol throughout the country for the savings of N1.4 trillion on subsidy payments alone.'Also, a more flexible exchange rate regime, we will have to decrease the pressure on the external reserve. In the short run, of course, there should be consequences for inflation.'We expect that with greater priority we have seen in the implementation of the policy by the CBN, the foreign exchange market will stabilize and confidence will be restored.'I'm not in a hurry to die ' Governor OkorochaGovernor Rochas Okorocha of Imo, has said that he is not in a hurry to die but live to complete his assignment for the people of the state.Okorocha made the statement on Thursday while reacting to rumours of his ill health shortly after arriving Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri, from a foreign trip.Addressing a large crowd that gathered at the airport to welcome him, Okorocha described the rumours of his health condition as `false.''I am not in a hurry to die; I will live to complete my assignment for Imo people.'I went to the land of the dead and our ancestors turned me back saying it was not yet time,' he said. The governor however, acknowledged that he had a challenge that took him far from the physical. He told the crowd that he was healthy and strong, adding that those who wished him dead were enemies of the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Sam Onwuemedo said last week that Okorocha traveled outside the country to attract investors to Imo.Shortly after the governor's departure, it was widely rumoured that he was dead, while some reports in the social media claimed that the governor's health condition was bad.
