WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for Sept. 5

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 05 Sep 2016

Chaossurrounded Kevin Owens'Universal Championship win last Monday, and the aftereffects will shape the Labor Day edition of WWE Raw.Owens outlasted Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Big Cass on Aug. 29 to claim the vacant title thanks to a surprise return from Triple H. The Game abandoned his long alliance with Rollins, knocking out his protege to allow Owens to nab the win.Questions swirled as the show went off the air.Was Owens now working with Triple H' Was Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon at odds with her husband, or did she and Triple H conspire to crown KO' Is Rollins now poised for a babyface turn'Answers are on their way asKansas City, Missouri, hosts Raw. WWE will also continue to construct the card for theClash of Champions pay-per-view on Sept. 25. Charlotte needs a challenger for her Women's Championship, Cesaro has fallen behind in his series against Sheamus and Reigns will need someone to clash with after getting cheated out of a chance at the Universal Championship. TheRaw previewon WWE.com, backstage reports and a look at current storyline arcs offer a look into the crystal ball for Monday's show. The Kevin Owens era of Raw will kick off on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.News, Potential SpoilersBo Dallas will possibly be back after an embarrassing incident at an airport last week.PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson reported, "After missing last week's Mexico tour and subsequent Raw taping after being arrested for public intoxication following his removal from a flight at the Dallas Airport, Bo Dallas is slated for this week's Monday Night Raw taping."Dallas, though, hasn't been a consistent part of the show in a long time. His spot in the pecking order likely took a nosedive thanks to his arrest. If he does show up on Monday night, it will almost certainly be to take a quick beating. The plans for the Clash of Champions main event appear to have been leaked early. As Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc noted, local advertisements in Indianapolis (host of Clash of Champions) have featured Owens vs. Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at the PPV. That matchup will surprise no one afterwhat went down last Monday night. If Owens vs. Rollins is indeed the plan, look for WWE to make that clear on Monday's Raw. The company will surely want ample time to build toward the marquee bout. And Owens' new ally may accompany him in Indianapolis.Johnson notedMonday's show will feature "an appearance from Triple H."Raw StreaksThe victories keep coming forNia Jax. The recent Raw draftee has been unstoppable in the early stages of her tenure on the main roster. Her defeat of Hyan last week upped her winning streak to four, per CageMatch.net.Jax remains undefeated on Raw.Jack Swagger's booking hasn't been nearly as favorable. He's essentially fallen off a cliff. The former world heavyweight champ hasn't wrestled on Raw since July 11,per CageMatch.net.He has since missed out on seven consecutive editions of Raw.His last singles win on the red brand came in December last year.Swagger has to be frustrated that the brand split hasn't afforded him any added opportunities. Even The Shining Stars are getting more spotlight than The All-American American.Clash of Champions Build ContinuesCesaro is in an 0-2 hole against Sheamus in their best-of-seven series thanks to The Celtic Warrior besting him last Monday.Sheamus won after hurling Cesaro into the ring post. WWE then played up Cesaro's storyline injury with a medical report on its official website, which claimed his lumbar spine had multiple contusions. That smells like an angle where Cesaro will be hobbled going into their third matchup, worsening his odds for the sake of increasing drama. One smart move would be for Cesaro to drop the next bout and have him head into Clash of Champions down 0-3 with a series of must-wins ahead of him.Minutes into Bayley's Raw run, it was clear WWE planned to have her challenge Charlotte for the Women's Championship in a hurry.Bayley has since won a variety of matches, including a six-person tag contest last Monday with The New Day at her side. The former NXT women's champ is likely to have more success in the coming weeks.WWE will be looking to build her up as a threat to Charlotte. The Raw preview on WWE.com hinted that a championship chance lies ahead. It asked, "If Bayley's momentum continues, is a title opportunity in the cards'"Monday's Raw also promises to make sense of the Universal Championship situation, including where Reigns fits into it.Should Rollins and Owens, McMahon and Triple H all collide with that title in the center of the storm, where does that leave The Big Dog' He could return to chasing Rusev's United States Championship or possibly begin a new story, one that likely involves him roaming around enraged.WWE's Raw preview stated, "Reigns is undoubtedly furious, and the rest of the Raw locker room would be wise to stay out of his way this week."As for Rollins, he will walk into Kansas City seeking vengeance, as well. The Architect will have no shortage of targets to go after. His father figure in Triple H betrayed him, Owens stole a victory from him and he may believe that McMahon, who has long backed him, was behind the attack that cost him the universal title.Monday's Raw promises to feature fireworks aplenty as a result.
