Football Manager Player Darren Bland Breaks World Record for Longest Single Game

A Liverpool supporter by the name of Darren Bland has clicked his way into the Guinness World Records after recording the longest single game of Football Manager with an astonishing 174-day spree.Goal's Alex Young reported Blandknown as Wulfhammer on the virtual football gameplayed as Fiorentina onFootball Manager 2010 for a total of173 days, 16 hours and 51 minutes, confirmed by the game's official Facebook page:The mammoth attempt took Bland "nearly two years of real-life time" between 2013 and 2014 to complete, winning Serie A 151 times in just 154 seasons, a prolific league title success rate of just over 98 percent.The Reds fan took his Fiorentina side to the year 2163, and what's more incredible is Bland would have gone further had liquid not damaged his laptop. Speaking on his choice to pick La Viola over Liverpool, per Young, he said:Variety is the spice and all that so, on this occasion, I plumped for Fiorentina. When I start a game with a club, I finish it with said club. Why abandon all the hard work just for some computer algorithm to muck it all up while I have to start the process all over'I chose Fiorentina because a) My all time favourite player had a mediocre season with them - the genius, the doctor, the bearded lord of the nonchalant style, Socrates from the wonderful 1982 Brazil team.
