Dez Bryant Injury: Updates on Cowboys Star's Knee and Return

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 26 Sep 2016

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a sprained knee Sunday during a 31-17 victory over the Chicago Bears, per Ed Werder of ESPN.Continue for updates.Bryant Will Have MRI on MondaySunday, Sept. 25Werder pointed out the MRI was to confirm the sprain, and Jon Machota of theDallas Morning Newsnoted owner Jerry Jones said, "Right now, we're fine with it" after Bryant had X-rays on the knee.Bryant has been quite banged up over the past year. Not only did Dallas' star wideout miss seven games during the 2015 season after breaking his right foot in the team's season opener against the New York Giants, but he suffered a concussion during training camp that prevented him from suiting up in the team's third preseason game."Last year was ugly," Bryant said in August, per USA Today'sBob Buttitta."I don't think any of us want to deal with that again or feel that again."Despite those setbacks, Bryant has remained one of the most feared deep threats the game has to offer. In threegames so far this season, the 2014 First Team All-Pro has hauled in 11passes for 150 yards and onetouchdown for the Cowboys.Bryant's field-stretching capabilities, pure athleticism and strong hands combine to give him one of the most unique individual skill sets in the NFL, so replacing his production will be tough if the two-time Pro Bowler misses extended action.Look for Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley and Brice Butler to assume heavier workloads if Bryant watches from the sidelines.
