Mobile network operators in Nigeria will spend a whopping N1.1 billion annually replacing stolen generators at telecommunications sites, according to BusinessDay checks. Industry sources told BusinessDay that telecoms operators lose at least one generator daily due to theft and vandalism, adding significantly to the cost of maintaining a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) - a critical network component for telecoms service delivery.
